Weber Shandwick took two awards at the 2016 Awards for Excellence in Public Relations. The agency won the Best use of Digital PR including Content Creation award for Excellence in Public Relations for Vodafone Ireland and the Best Healthcare Campaign award for Excellence in Public Relations for a cosmetic awareness campaign for the Health Products Regulatory Authority . The highly competitive awards were open to all companies, organisations and individuals across the island of Ireland and attracted over 200 entries.
In the category for Best Use of Digital PR including Content Creation, Weber Shandwick Dublin came up trumps from a shortlist of six entrants to win the category for its #4GLive campaign with Vodafone Ireland. According to the judging panel ‘the winner clearly demonstrated significant results achieved, but what fascinated our judges was the process involved. Here an objective driven, PR strategy, led naturally to a mix of the latest digital trends and traditional methods being used, to support what was both an intimate and simultaneously global live event. ’
In the Best Healthcare Campaign Category Weber Shandwick won for its campaign on behalf of the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) to raise awareness of the HPRA’s role in relation to cosmetics. Announcing the win, MC Gavin Duffy said, ‘There was no doubt among the judges which should be the winning submission. The entry detailed an adept, seasonal and relevant communications strategy which worked at a number of levels. Among the measures of success was the impact achieved among the target audience.’
